You usually see you see the end result of things from me- The products I make.

But this is a bit of an inflection point in the company and I wanted to share a little bit about my latest prototype, which isn't a product, but a factory!
Ever since the pandemic we’ve steadily brought more and more of our operations in-house. For example, we started shipping things from my garage out of necessity. But what I discovered was that once we were up and running, things worked a lot more smoothly because we controlled the whole process. So, we continue to ship orders ourselves every day from my studio.

That led me to wonder- could there be similar benefits from making products in-house as well? We started experimenting with essentially scaling up the same processes I use for prototyping- by buying a bigger laser cutter and hiring a couple of "makery" folks to help with production.

It worked so well that we're producing the rewards for our latest Passport Wallet Kickstarter wallet in-house.

And then, during the campaign, when the opportunity came up to get this new larger space, I jumped on it.

I’ve said before that the way I look at it- I work for you my customers.
With this additional investment in our production and our products, I’m also investing in you and look forward to sharing this journey together- starting with what will become a small factory right here.
